How would you describe your field and main tasks?
I am currently working as a Finance Business Partner in the YouSee Finance team within TDC Group, and in my position, I deal with various tasks which relate specifically towards the financial and commercial aspects of the company. As a business partner, my main objective is to act as a sort of “mini-CFO” for my respective department(s), which involves consulting and supporting the executive management in decision-making by providing them with financial insights and converting numbers into actions.

What are the most exciting and challenging parts of your job?
The most exciting and challenging part of my job is that as a Finance Business Partner, I get to work with complex tasks across all departments of the company. This allows me to have a diverse array of tasks and responsibilities which I believe is important for me to develop professionally as well as personally. Furthermore, the extensive horizontal cooperation within TDC Group also displays that everyone shares the same ambition to increase the quality and value within the company and towards our customers.

How do you use your education in your position?
My degree in Accounting, Strategy and Control, focused a lot on the strategic impact of finance, and how to operationalize strategic initiatives. We were taught how to measure and analyze metrics such as customer satisfaction and company value and furthermore we worked with several tools which provided us with the foundation of analyzing financial challenges and formalizing them into presentations which were understandable towards a non-finance audience. All of these aspects from my education are very relevant towards my current position as a Finance Business Partner, as they are constantly being utilized in my daily tasks e.g. in the form of creating and analyzing business cases, identifying and presenting results and insights to the management etc.

What are the three most important things for you in your job at TDC Group?
For me, the three most important things about working for TDC Group is that firstly, every voice is being heard and is treated as equally important. This allows one to share ideas and knowledge from every aspect of the organization, which as a result provides each employee with a sense of responsibility and value. Secondly, I believe there is a healthy mix of employee types in the organization which I believe to be important for TDC Group. We have colleagues which have been in the company for many decades and are experts in their field and then we have graduates fresh from university. This in my perception allows for a good balance of mindsets and competencies. Lastly, the focus on good customer experiences and making customers feel valued is a concept which runs through the entire company, across all departments which I believe is extremely important, because it results in a determined mentality within all employees trying to achieve the same goal.

Why is TDC Group an attractive company for you to work in?
TDC Group is an attractive workplace because it is an organization which allows me to innovate and develop as a professional. The comprehensive focus on horizontal cooperation allows me to work different types of people with various competences which I learn from every day. Furthermore, TDC Group also invests a lot of resources in developing employees personally and professionally, which I find very attractive. Specifically, in the Finance area, the Finance Business Partner program in TDC Group focuses on developing our analytical skills, commercial understanding and other competencies with the aim of increasing the value of the Finance function across the entire organization.
Ultimately, as the largest telecommunications provider in Denmark, I also feel like my work has an influence on thousands of Danish households which I am extremely proud of, especially because we, as a group, constantly strive to improve the customer experience and provide the best household solutions to our customers.
