Integrative Health Science

Then the Master Programme Integrative Health Science is something for you.
The Master Programme Integrative Health Science is an interdisciplinary programme where students from different healthcare professions interact. During the programme you will get the opportunity to extend your understanding of the work within health-related fields, and you will learn to manage change and developmental work.

Knowledge and understanding:
For the Master"s degree in Integrative Health Science, a student who has completed the course of study should:
- demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the central discipline of Health Science, showing both a broad knowledge and a markedly deeper knowledge of the student"s chosen field.
- demonstrate a deeper knowledge of the methodology of the central discipline of Health Science.
Skills and abilities:
For the Master"s degree in Integrative Health Science, a student who has completed the course of study should:
- be able to initiate, plan, implement and evaluate research and development work within multidisciplinary health efforts in order to contribute to knowledge and local development.
- be able to evaluate critically and systematically integrate knowledge within interdisciplinary health work into a whole.
- critically, independently and creatively identify problem areas and formulate questions based on the epistemological, methodological and participatory perspective.
- analyze and respond to complex phenomena in relation to health promotion.
- be able to discuss information, problems and solutions orally and in writing in dialogue with different groups and be able to explain their own views and assessment in both national and international contexts.
Course Structure
Master program Integrative Health comprises 120 credits. Work related education (VFU) is included and is 5 credits. This program is offered at half speed (50%) for four years (eight semesters) in accordance with the overview below. However, the thesis can be conducted at quarter speed (25%) if the student so desires.
Obligatory courses 90 credits
- Perspectives on health and society, 7.5 credits
- Knowledge development in the multi-professional work place, 7.5 credits
- Perspectives on quality improvement and sustainability in healthcare, 7.5 credits
- Evaluation for change 15 credits
- Research Design 15 credits
- International health, 7.5 credits
and Thesis, 30 credits
In addition there will be optional / elective courses for 30 credits
- Theory specialization corresponding to 15 credits at basic or advanced level
- Method specialization corresponding to 15 credits at advanced level
Ansøgning og adgangskrav
Exam with at least 180 creditsincludinga degree projectof 15 creditsin Health Scienceorin Medicin, Humanities and Social Scienceswith a scientific orientation in health sciencesor equivalent.
