King's College London was founded by King George IV and the Duke of Wellington in 1829. When the University of London was established in 1836, King's became one of its two founding colleges. While remaining part of the University of London, King's has enjoyed financial and academic autonomy since 1994. Since 2008, King's has awarded its own degrees.
Employability
King’s is ranked fourth in the UK and 25th in the world for graduate employability, according to the results ofTimes Higher Education's Global Employability University Ranking 2016. The ranking was based on a survey that asked graduate-hiring managers across 20 countries to select the universities in their main recruiting areas that produce the best graduates.
