How would you describe your business field and main tasks?
I currently work in the Finance department and as part of my Graduate Program, I have just started my second rotation. In my first one I was part of the Financial Planning and Controlling team, in which I was involved in the monthly financial reports of the global group, but also in ad-hoc analysis and the preparation of the budget for 2019. The main benefit of these roles is related to the fact that I had a broad and complete view of the business and the different trends and strategies in all the markets.
As part of my current rotation, I cooperate with the marketing managers to support them from a quantitative perspective. One of my most important tasks consists in preparing business cases, in which it is evaluated the feasibility and profitability of the launch of new products or the renovation of existing ones. The most interesting part of the role is represented by the opportunity to know more about our brands but also to work with people with a different background than mine.

What are the most exciting and challenging parts of your job?
As a foreigner who arrived in Denmark to start this new adventure in Carlsberg, adapting to a different working culture and being a part of an international team has been a stimulating experience for me. I would also consider the responsibilities I have received from the first months as a great challenge that helped me grow from many perspectives.
The opportunity to know and explore the key drivers behind the financial performance of the company represents also a really exciting part of my role, and I am sure that I will discover many more interesting aspects of my job in my next rotations.

How do you use your education in your position?
I had an education with a focus on financial management and accounting, so I can apply a part of what I learned at the university in my daily tasks. I also believe that a good knowledge of the main software, like Excel or PowerPoint, is useful to my job. In addition, the many group assignments I did during my master helped me improve my team-work attitude and cooperate better with my colleagues.
However, I also believe that the world in a real office is really different from the one you can experience in the university, and therefore it is essential to be curious, humble and a great team-worker because your learning process has just started.

What are the three most important things for you in your job at Carlsberg?
I believe that the three most important things can be summarized in being an enthusiast of our brands, sustainability initiatives, and ancient heritage, that somehow makes this company different from many others, bring positive energy to challenge the status quo in a constructive way, and being open to learning from people who have different background and come from any corner of the world.

Why is Carlsberg an attractive company for you to work in?
I consider Carlsberg a great place to work because you are constantly exposed to a multicultural environment. The company offers you the opportunity to have assignments through specific programmes, like the Graduate track. Working here means feeling fully involved in developing a sustainable growth path in the future, highlighting at the same time the roots that connect the firm to its glorious past.
I also believe that Carlsberg is a perfect place to grow, with a good mix between young end experienced managers, all passionate about the firm and its legacy. From the beginning of my time here, I have experienced the strong values and principles embodied within the company’s working culture, and you feel motivated to strive for the best.
