University of Bergen
(UiB) is an internationally recognised research university. Academic diversity and high quality are fundamental for us. UiB is the most cited university in Norway.
There are seven faculties at UiB and there are close to 18 500 students at the university. Around 2 000 of these are international students. We employ more than 4 000 faculty and staff. PhD candidates are paid employees, making the doctoral degree at UiB particularly attractive for rising talent. About one in three graduating doctors are from outside Norway.

The University of Bergen is an international research university in which all activity is grounded in the principles of academic freedom and curiosity-driven research.
Our objective is to seek, develop and cultivate knowledge through outstanding research, education, dissemination and innovation.
The faculties and the University Museum represent our most important knowledge arenas.
We will profile the relevance of research and education. Discussions and dissemination of knowledge are a prerequisite for developing academia within a democratic society.
Campus
The University of Bergen has most of its premises concentrated in two areas.Mathematics and natural sciences, social sciences, psychology, the humanities and arts and laware taught at Nygårdshøyden, a mixture of houses, shops and seats of learning. Årstadvollen is the University's "health campus", where dentistry, medicine and health-carelie close to the Haukeland and Haraldsplass university clinics. In Møllendal you will find our new Faculty of Fine Art, Music and design.
